The role 

 

You will be responsible for leading multiple agile software development teams in the corporate business area of Technology Development.

 

 You will be accountable for high quality software output and responsible for developing effective and collaborative relationships across the Technology Development teams to ensure that Agile processes and best practices are adhered. 

  

Key Accountabilities  

 

  • Responsible for the application design and provide leadership to development teams to ensure that they deliver against stakeholder expectations. Supporting the delivery of solutions within timescales, budget and required quality and performance standards
  • Jointly with the Agile Development Team, monitor the development of people, processes and tools which will continually improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the team
  • Monitor and ensure that the appropriate level of documentation is produced during the development and maintenance phase and that the documentation is up to date and regularly deposited in departmental repositories
  • Ensure training plans are developed and available for the development team to ensure a smooth adoption of new technologies
  • Responsible for the resourcing, capability and development of the Agile Development Team
  • Accountable for creation and continued improvement of development plans, forecasts and development budgetary estimates,  to ensure projects can be planned in a consistent and timely fashion.

 

What you’ll need:

 

  • Expert knowledge of object-oriented best practices, and software design patterns
  • Expert knowledge of software architectures such as web sites, back office transactional systems
  • Expert knowledge of designing, developing, deploying and maintaining applications on on-premise data centre as well as on Microsoft Azure.
  • Expert level skills on C#, .Net, SQL Server, Azure Function App, Azure Service bus, Azure Event hub, APIM, Azure Storage, Azure DevOps.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of Agile planning and management tools and techniques
  • Broad knowledge of Information technology trends particularly those to public transport operations
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of industry standard practices in relation to design and development of secured software solutions.
  • Strong ability to act as a source of inspiration, and expertise within a development team
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject area is desirable
