Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.

Day-to-day, your focus will be on delivering Fire Engineering designs, drawings, information, calculations and enhancements that keep vital, innovative and big-budget projects moving. You’ll make sure assets are safe, working and compliant; develop your own solutions; and be a trusted source of engineering advice for everyone, including our Heads of Engineering Delivery and Operating colleagues.
Whilst being a Fire Engineer, your team may include other Building Services Engineers.
As a Chartered Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers or other relevant internationally recognised institution, you will use your knowledge of relevant TfL, National and International standards for Fire Engineering, such as Building Regulations Part B, BS9992, BS9999 and BS7974, to prepare or approve Fire Strategies for consultation and agreement with stakeholders and authorities.
You will be responsible for delivering Fire Engineering services throughout the TfL Estate, defining scope, controlling business risk and compliance with associated standards. You will work throughout a projects’ life cycle, including feasibility, delivery and acceptance assurance.
You will need to be a clear communicator, both verbally and in report writing. You will be part of a team of Fire Engineers however, you may also work alone at any TfL location and this may be outside of normal office hours.
You will lead a team of talented Engineers, including their development / objectives. It’s important you bring a passion for the TfL Vision and strategy too.
