About the Role
As a Senior Engineering Team Leader for Railway Structures, you will lead a small, high-performing team of civil/structural engineers delivering structural assessments across TfL’s railway assets.

-
Provide practical engineering advice on structural capacity, defects, mitigation measures and operational impacts.
-
Provide responsive technical support for urgent and time-critical issues affecting operational assets, including occasional attendance at site (e.g. during possessions or out-of-hours) where required; noting that such instances are expected to be infrequent but essential when they arise.
-
Contribute to multidisciplinary projects, including structural modifications and third-party works impacting railway structures.
-
Engage effectively with stakeholders including project teams, asset engineers, suppliers and external parties.
-
Support continuous improvement through application of best practice, innovation and efficient delivery methods.

Relevant legislation, standards, and safety, environmental and risk management principles.
-
Technical assurance and quality control of engineering calculations, reports and designs.
-
Supporting multidisciplinary engineering projects, including track and drainage renewal works and structural modifications.
-
Managing or supervising engineering teams and developing early-career engineers, graduates and apprentices.
