The Senior Safety Engineer role is central to delivering this vision, providing system safety assurance for projects, including safety planning, hazard identification and management, safety risk analysis, modelling and preparation of engineering safety cases.

We are looking for a talented Senior Safety Engineer with a passion for making our transport network safer. You will help to deliver high profile complex projects to improve London’s transport system as part of the Mayor’s Transport Strategy leading to a real sense of achievement. You will evaluate, select and apply appropriate solutions to risk / value / complexity engineering problems that improve efficiency or effectiveness, while improving safety and reducing operating costs. This supports a culture of continuous improvement through the identification of best practice, innovation, whole life cost optimisation and effective root cause analysis.

You will provide technical guidance and advice in your position as a trusted source of safety engineering expertise for your team, peers, internal stakeholders and the wider business, including our Heads of Engineering Delivery. You will represent TfL Engineering as a subject matter expert when engaging with your delivery team, suppliers, customers, industry bodies and external agencies, identifying and influencing best practice to enable continuous improvement across TfL.
