Trainer required to be accountable for delivering operationally focused learning interventions to teams and individuals across TFL, delivering high quality learning interventions in order to meet business need, improve organisational capability and contribute towards TFL’s core value. This role will involve delivering Track Safety, suite of training, and Machine Room Awareness Training to staff and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- To deliver quality training at multiple locations that meets the requirements of a 24/7 operational environment.
- To provide a professional, customer focus training service to TFL, its suppliers and contractors within the agreed timescales, costs and quality to ensure the delegate(s) are trained in the relevant field. Delivering training interventions to small and large groups.
- Deliver learning interventions to delegates in accordance with the OTSD Learning Course Management System to ensure the delegate(s) are trained to a high standard and in the relevant field.
- Deliver specified learning interventions, ensuring that all learning objectives are fully achieved in an atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Assess the skills, knowledge and behaviours of delegates, as laid down in the training specification, to ensure the delegate is getting the most out of the training session. Provide written feedback to delegates. Report on pass and fail rates using the training department's reporting procedures.
- Manage and organise resources inclusive of office, classroom and track at a variety of locations to create an atmosphere conducive to learning..
- Operate as an integral part of the Training Organisation, demonstrating and promoting the appropriate values and behaviours of the company, always portraying a positive and professional image.
- Keep your own primary licence and secondary licences up to date after acquisition
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge
- Multi skilled technical expertise to include knowledge of the operational railway, safety in a track environment E
- Extensive knowledge of all areas of the training cycle D
- Knowledge of the capabilities of e-learning and other mediums as a learning methodology. D
- Knowledge and awareness of relevant safety legislation and TfL safety processes E
- Knowledge of post course electronic reporting systems and reporting processes. D
- Act as a subject matter expert in relation to training activities E
Skills
- Level 3 trainer qualifications or equivalent D
- Ability to assess delegates’ skills, knowledge and behaviours through approved methods. D
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to people at all levels and adapt to the needs of particular groups or individuals as required. E
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, both oral and written. E
- Ability to think creatively and provide multiple potential solutions to meet a learning need. E
- Ability to translate complex concepts and procedures into practical, easy to follow solutions that meet business need. E
Experience
- Holds PWT-EH or PWT-TH in the track environment and a SCL to this level E
- Holds or willing to work towards Lift & Escalator Industry Association (LEIA) distance learning course for both L&E or equivalent with min 2 years experience D
- Demonstrable successful expertise in delivering a range of training interventions including one to one coaching, presenting to groups, collaborative learning and facilitation. D
- Ability and qualifications to enable assessments that take place on the job and simulation. D
- Experience of conducting thorough training needs analyses at all levels, pre course through to post course competences D
- Demonstrable commitment to the achievement of exceptional customer care. E
- Understanding the competence program for the specific skill set.D
- TAQA A1 or equivalent assessor competence D
