Do you currently hold a (PWT-TH) Protecting Works on the Track license and a Track Maintenance Safety Critical License T001, along with Track Maintenance experience?

We have an exciting opportunity for you to work as a Skilled Track Operative, with the Northern Line team.


If successful, you will undertake routine inspection, maintenance and replacement of track and associated assets individually and/or as a member of a team. 


 
Key accountabilities

 

  • Ensuring all routine skilled track maintenance activities are undertaken in accordance with London Underground policy and procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Undertaking Protecting Workers on the Track Traffic Hours and Site Person in Charge duties as required, ensuring that the company’s rules and regulations are followed.
  • Accountable for overseeing the work carried out by small maintenance teams
  • Accountable for undertaking track safety patrols, preparing reports or handheld device reports on defects, sub-standard conditions and safety issues.
  • Operating relevant mechanical plant and equipment if certified.
  • Assisting in undertaking basic drainage, fencing and off-track work if required.
  • In order to carry out these tasks effectively, you will be required to demonstrate competence to the given standards.
  • In addition, you should be willing to undertake such track maintenance duties and tasks that the management deems necessary and are within the individual’s capability.
  • You will be required to liaise and co-operate as directed with other groups, departments and contractors as necessary for the achievement of work tasks and program

Skills

 

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills; (Essential)
  • Good communication skills. (Essential)
  • Literate and numerate. (Essential)

 

Knowledge 

 

  • Hold a (PWT-TH) Protecting Workers on the Track Licence. (Essential)
  • Hold a (PWT-Depot) Protecting Workers on the Track Licence. (Essential)
  • Deep understanding of track components and track maintenance procedures. (Essential)
  • Hold a Track Maintenance Safety Critical License T001 at the time of submitting your application. (Essential)
  • Hold or working towards attaining the Track Maintenance Safety Critical Licenses T002/3 (Desirable)
  • Possess a clean, full manual driving licence as you may be required to drive Company vehicles on an ad-hoc basis. (Essential)

 
Experience
 

  • You will have previous track maintenance experience (Essential)
  • Experience of leading small teams. (Desirable)
