Business Engineers are responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing engineering-context initiatives with the potential to deliver benefits across TfL; we also support the implementation of change and realisation of these benefits. We lead and deliver multidisciplinary projects, across product lifecycles, from ideation and business case, through to the operate and maintain phases. This includes understanding stakeholder needs, the business case, mitigating risks, establishing feasibility, developing prototype solutions, and setting technical requirements for delivering well defined business outcomes.
We are a team who sit across disciplines, leveraging our own knowledge and the technical expertise from colleagues & partnerships while maintaining a bird’s eye view of how the solution integrates with the business.
Recent assignments within Business Engineering include ongoing work with engineering and maintenance teams to identify and implement cost saving initiatives, designing frameworks for Asset Strategy to inform long term financial plans, and providing technical support to the Net Zero matrix team to launch major environmental and commercial projects.
