Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.

Day-to-day, your focus will be on delivering designs, drawings, information, calculations and enhancements that keep vital, innovative and big-budget projects moving. You’ll make sure assets are safe, working and compliant; develop your own solutions; and be a trusted source of engineering advice for everyone, including our Heads of Engineering Delivery.

 

As a Geotechnical Engineer you will have a Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering Degree and be either a Member or have applied for the Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers or The Geological Society.

 

You will have experience in geotechnical inspection, ground investigation, monitoring, assessment, design and stabilisation of earth structures as well as design of foundations, retaining walls and earthworks in a railway and road environment preferably gained on the TfL network or other UK major transport infrastructure. Knowledge of legislation, technical standards and industry best practice related to earth structures and geotechnical engineering is essential. Ability to use key geotechnical design software Slope/W is Essential and other softwares such as Wallap, Repute, Palxis and others is Desirable.
