About the role
The Value Management Business Advisor role is part of the Value and Continuous Improvement team that supports the Programme Management Office (PMO) and Delivery Hubs in the delivery of lessons learned, value management and improvement programmes across PMO, Capital, and wider TfL.
Scope of role includes a multitude of planning, liaison, coordination and communication activities associated with supporting the effective management of PMO and Delivery Hub value improvement initiatives and programmes.
The role would suit someone detailed orientated, curious, adaptable and innovative.
Key Accountabilities
• Maintain up-to-date records for business area and supporting teams including project plans, activities logs, action logs and communications with projects and programmes to ensure stakeholders are informed of improvements being actioned
• Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the value and knowledge systems with SharePoint, PowerPoint and M/S Excel expertise.
• Accountable for organisation, planning and write up of regular Knowledge Management & Project Management Community (PMC) workshops, Community of Practice (VCoP) events, and communications campaigns.
• Generate lessons learned and best practice case studies
• Do the Quality Control activities for Lesson Learned submissions, to ensure only quality data is added to the knowledge portal
• Manage the Value and Continuous Improvement (VCI) teams Lessons Learned document library and knowledge portal, ensuring correct and accurate checks eg correct naming convention for easy information retrieval.
• Collaborate with the other Professional Managers to develop and maintain a TfL wide Informed Improvements tracker of actions and interventions to support the delivery of meaningful improvements to business processes.
• Collate, analyse and report data as required, reporting on relevant metrics, trends and insights within the team and maintain dashboards, in alignment with the performance reporting team including internal/external lessons learned
Knowledge
- Knowledge of Lessons Learned, Continuous Improvement, and Management of Value.
- Knowledge and understanding of capital projects and programmes with an understanding of how disciplines and programme controls supports a high functioning environment.
- Ability to provide support in meetings including preparing supporting papers.
- Knowledge of reporting structures and data analysis techniques.
- Good knowledge of Project and Programme Management, governance, systems and tools.
Skills
- Excellent organisation skills to manage multiple streams of work in support of delivery of high risk, value and complex project and programmes.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to use Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint to intermediate level (e.g. tables, pivot tables, presentations, etc).

Experience
- Experience of Lessons Learned and supporting projects.
- Experience of creating, adapting and monitoring processes in projects and experience of implementing tools to support changes.
- Experience of dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation.
- Experience of Data Entry and Data Maintenance working to tight deadlines.
- Experience in effective communitarian strategies, manging stakeholder demands communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
