Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.
Overview of project/role
As a Performance Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that the Surface Network Operations Directorate (SNO) operates efficiently and effectively.
Your work will involve managing a team to deliver comprehensive reporting across the directorate, collating and analysing intelligence data on business and contract performance, offering valuable insights to the Senior Management Team (SMT) to aid in strategic decision-making, and identifying opportunities for business change and continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities
- Works with the supply chain and AMD contract users to interrogate business and contract process and procedure to ensure they are fit for purpose and continually improved to support AMD outcomes.
- Accountable for chairing periodic performance review meetings, where required, to address supplier performance issues and recommend resolution where necessary.
- Proactively identifies risk or issues based on performance data trends and works with Risk Manager, AMD managers and suppliers to facilitate the creation and delivery of improvement plans, reviewing existing KPIs / SLAs and setting new ones if needed.
- Ensure the DBFO Co is maintaining the Project Road in accordance with the requirements of the contract
- Undertake regular inspections and surveys of the Project Road to identify any non-compliances
- Review the output from the MRM and SCRIM surveys, ensure the DBFO Co develop a programme to address any areas requiring treatment
- Monitor compliance with the requirements of Schedule 6, including surveys and inspections required.
- Understand the impact of stats work on the Project Road and the DBFO Co’s operations.
- Engage with Network Management to assess the effects of the proposed works
- Identify cost impacts of the works on the DBFO Co, particularly on availability

- Ensure contract assurance and compliance with relevant standards and regulations (essential)

- Able to design and collect data and information to support business objectives
Knowledge
- Hold degree standard or equivalent Business, Economics, Engineering, or relevant business experience qualification
- Comprehensive knowledge of New Engineering Contract 3 (NEC3) and other contract types and contract tools and standard clauses.
- Good understanding of working practices used within construction / transport environment and issues surrounding public transport provision within local authorities (essential)
- Good understanding of data analysis techniques

- Experience in supervising work and providing feedback
- Experience in using performance data to advise on business performance and to resolve performance issues
- Experience in establishing strong working relationships with the key stakeholders, including suppliers to support performance management and improvement.
- Experience in successfully influencing at management level between supply chain and client company, including facilitating joint decision-making, preparing and presenting reports to peers and management to influence business.
- Experience of developing and delivering performance and audit management processes across a range of contracts and business activities
