Key Information

Job title – Delivery Manager (TNS Lubrication)

Salary – From £76,821.00     Grade MMH1

Location –Lillie Bridge Depot, West Kensington; Edgeware Track Office, London; TfL Head Offices (as required); Hybrid.

London Underground – Permanent.

Core Hours- 0900-1700 Monday-Friday, with the requirement for regular unsocial hours including nights, and occasional weekends & on-call.

 

 

Overview of project/role

A key member of the Track Network Services management team, this role is responsible for maintenance, renewal and overall performance of Track Lubrication and Adhesion Management across London Underground, as part of the Asset Performance Directorate.

Delivering in conjunction with other APD departments, APD track colleagues and TfL Engineering & Strategy to ensure the performance, safety and cost of the asset base are optimised from a whole life perspective and risk to the Operational Railway is mitigated as per the relevant LU Standard.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Develop and deliver the LU lubrication asset maintenance plans, ensuring that both asset performance and planned improvements are achieved in line with company KPI's and delivery targets (time/cost/budget).
  • Lead, develop and manage your team (internal and contracted staff) to drive performance, capability and engagement, while promoting an inclusive diversity in the workplace
  • Develop and embed continuous improvement in Safety, Performance, Cost, Productivity and relevant standards, through reviewing ways of working and the overall inspection and maintenance regime for lean improvements.
  • Management of the asset base to ensure assets are introduced, maintained and renewed to minimise the whole life cost of an asset, and communicate whole life capital purchase & operational funding requirements to stakeholders.
  • Produce accurate and relevant information on a regular basis on your department in line with the departmental priorities and TfL Strategy. Produce a weekly summary for Visualisation to demonstrate this, including compliance with the Asset Maintenance Regime and relevant plans to deliver against project deliverables.
  • Deputise for the Track Network Services Manager as required.

 

 

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Skills

  • Proven ability to communicate with people at all levels, including both external and internal stakeholders, to shape and demonstrate how the department is performing in a constructive and consistent manner
  • Strong Leadership skills to ensure effective team development, and effectively address challenges and barriers
  • Commercial and financial management skills
  • Ability to analyse complex situations and formulate appropriate plans and projects to drive improvement

 

Experience

  • Proven experience of Asset Management in an operational environment
  • Experienced managing lubrication and friction modifying assets in a railway environment.
  • Proven leadership and management experience of overseeing performance in an operational, people intensive environment
  • Proven record in the effective control of budgets and the delivery of a multi-million £ service provision.
  • Wide and extensive experience of the management of front-line teams, with excellent leadership skills in a people intensive environment.
  • Experience of working with Trade Unions
  • Experience of leading operational delivery in a complex, real-time railway operations environment.

 

Knowledge

  • Business focused with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • In-depth knowledge of general activities & operations in a railway environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, guidance and good practice.
  • Understanding of systems integration requirements in the context of an operational railway.
  • In-depth knowledge of lubrication and friction modifying assets and systems.
