Overview of project/role
The Stores Operative role is to ensure the stores are efficiently run in order to provide a good reliable service to the depot in order to satisfy the requirements with respect to materials Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery

Accountabilities:
- Ensure all relevant Health and Safety requirements are adhered to, including all environmental issues
- Provide good efficient service to frontline customers and liaise with various teams on a daily basis to achieve efficient goods receiving operation
- Carry out regular stock audits to support stock accuracy target achievements
- Liaise with Warehouse Manager on material requirements/shortages as they arise
- Reduce waste involved in ‘picking’ times by optimising procedures and stores layout. Assist in stores layout and racking changes etc. to help improve overall stores efficiency.
- Assist in maintenance of accurate warehouse document control to satisfy audit criteria
- Embrace new technology to further improve stock control
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to deal with internal and external requests (Essential)
- Accurate numeracy and PC skills, including basic Microsoft Word and Excel (Essential)
- Team player (Essential)
Knowledge:
- Fork Lift Truck operating licence – Counterbalance and valid (Essential)
- Knowledge of warehouse procedures (Essential)
- UK Driving Licence (Essential)
Experience:
- Previous warehouse experience (Essential)
- Previous SAP experience or other stock control systems experience (Desirable)
- Experience of operating a Forklift truck (Essential)
