Overview of project/role
Stakeholder Advocacy & Engagement plays a vital role in helping TfL build trusted relationships with the organisations, communities and representative groups that speak for London's diverse customers. Working across a broad range of stakeholders, including business groups, passenger representatives, accessibility advocates, community organisations and policy influencers, the team helps ensure external perspectives inform transport policy, planning and investment decisions. Through meaningful engagement, insight gathering and partnership working, Stakeholder Advocacy & Engagement supports TfL's commitment to delivering a transport network that meets the needs of people who live, work and travel across the capital.
As Engagement Manager, you'll lead and support your direct report in developing and strengthening relationships with freight and sustainability stakeholder groups. Working closely with teams across TfL and senior leaders, you'll help ensure stakeholder insight is reflected in policies, programmes and decision-making that support the ambitions of the Mayor's Transport Strategy.
This is a varied and highly strategic area of work where you'll have the opportunity to influence issues that make a real difference to London's future. You'll build trusted partnerships with stakeholders, helping TfL work collaboratively to achieve and shape key objectives within the Mayor's Transport Strategy, including eliminating deaths and serious injuries on London's roads and supporting a city where 80 per cent of journeys are made by walking, cycling or public transport.

- Work collaboratively across TfL to engage stakeholders on the priorities of the Mayor's Transport Strategy, managing responses, resolving issues, building understanding and generating support for shared objectives
- Gather and share stakeholder intelligence with colleagues across Engagement, Public Affairs, Corporate Communications and the wider business, ensuring external perspectives help inform decision-making and challenge existing approaches where appropriate

Equality, diversity and inclusion
We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and aim to reflect the diverse communities we serve. We believe that a diverse workforce enables us to deliver better services and outcomes. Our goal is to make our recruitment as inclusive as possible. As a Disability Confident Leader, we actively encourage applications from disabled people. As part of the Disability Confident scheme, we aim to offer an assessment or interview to candidates who apply via the scheme where the minimum essential criteria for skills, knowledge and experience have been met. In some circumstances, it may not be practical to offer an interview or assessment to every candidate who applies through the scheme and meet the minimum essential criteria; in these situations, we select candidates who best meet the minimum criteria for the job rather than interviewing all who meet them.
Across all recruitment activity, we recognise that selection methods may vary depending on the nature and scale of the campaign and will be applied fairly, consistently and proportionately in line with our Disability Confident commitments.
