Job Purpose:
This role supports Finance data cleansing activities using insights generated from Signavio and other data quality assessments. It is critical during the readiness and implementation phases of S/4HANA, ensuring Finance data is standardised, accurate, and well-governed, thereby reducing rework, data storage costs, and reporting inaccuracies.
The role holder will be responsible for maintaining Finance systems and data, including scheduling routines, general maintenance, financial reporting, system versioning, and data refreshes. Working collaboratively with Finance, Master Data, and Technical teams, the role ensures the integrity and accuracy of period-end and year-end close processes, SAP access controls, and compliance with TfL governance and Finance policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Quality & Cleansing
- Use data quality assessment outputs to identify data issues, root causes, and improvement opportunities across Pan-TfL Finance.
- Lead and coordinate data cleansing activities in collaboration with business users, Master Data teams, and technical stakeholders.
- Translate data quality issues into training needs and communicate these effectively across Finance teams.
Systems, Reporting & Controls
- Develop and maintain ad hoc and scheduled reports to support:
- Data accuracy and data control activities
- Ongoing Finance system assurance
- Month-end and year-end close processes
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Act as the relationship manager for Finance systems data management, coordinating between Finance Business Partners and Technology & Data teams.
Continuous Improvement & Change
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data quality, controls, and system performance in a service-oriented environment.
- Identify system and process improvement opportunities by analysing existing data structures, and operations.
- Propose best-practice solutions aligned to S/4HANA and Finance transformation objectives.
Skills:
Practitioner level

Experienced
- SAP Systems and software
- Risk and controls
Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting, finance operations, and associated business processes
- Excellent understanding of system analysis and requirements gathering techniques
- Good understanding of financial systems and software, with excellent ability to learn new systems
- Essential knowledge of:
- SAP BPC
- SAP Business Objects
- SAP Analytics Cloud
- SAP Business Warehouse (BW)
- Good understanding of SAP ERP and S/4HANA landscape
- Knowledge of planning and project management tools and techniques
Experience:
- Experience supporting data cleanse and data accuracy initiatives
- Experience contributing to automation and scheduling improvements for reporting and period-end processes
- Proven ability to collaborate with software development teams
- Experience analysing semi-complex business problems under significant time and cost pressures

Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4 week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.
