Rail for London Infrastructure (RfLI) part of Transport for London (TfL) is responsible as Landlord / Infrastructure Manager for central section stations, the tunnel environment, shafts, portal.

Overview of project/role

 

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Maintenance Delivery Technician (SMDT) – MEP HVAC (air conditioning) to join the Elizabeth line ensuring the successful delivery and operation of London's newest railway.

Primarily the Senior Maintenance Delivery Technician shall assume a role faulting & maintenance role, providing team leadership and managing safety.

You will be expected to work to a shift pattern which shall include unsociable hours and weekend working.

The Senior Maintenance Delivery Technician is responsible for the delivery of safety of line inspections, asset monitoring, maintenance, like for like renewal and improvements works. This will include asset fault response, infrastructure inspection, asset data management and the safe delivery of reliability centred maintenance tasks.

You will be provided a high standard of training tailored to gaining the competencies to related to your role.

 

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Leading the delivery of maintenance tasks as defined by the RFLi Engineering team, complying with defined RFLi standards, processes, procedures, and performance to be delivered. Part of the fault rectification team and handing back the railway to safe operation following maintenance and works completion.
  • Deliver maintenance deployment planning with operations colleagues, ensuring that the operational requirements align with the maintenance engineering asset management requirements and deliver a compliant, safe, operable, and maintainable railway.
  • To ensure that Rail for London Infrastructure (RFLi) fully address the specification, planning, execution and quality of the maintenance engineering and safety management requirements. This is part of the asset management strategy and plan to deliver the required asset whole life, Reliability Availability Maintainability (RAM) and Remote Condition monitoring.

 

 

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience

 

  • Specialist knowledge of Building Services and public health systems with a strong air conditioning and mechanical maintenance background.
  • Substantial experience as a Mechanical Technician, Building Services Technician or Senior Maintenance Technician within the plant room environment with working experience of planned preventive maintenance and fault finding and repair.
  • NVQ Level 2 & 3 Diploma in Heating and Ventilation (City and Guilds or equivalent 6188-22) and Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Installing, Testing and Maintaining Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems (6187-01) or equivalent.
  • Or NVQ Level 2 / 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning City and Guilds 6187-02 C&G 2079-14 Level 2 Awards in F-Gas & ODS Regulations (Category I or II).
