Job Title: Senior Maintenance Technician Crossrail

Salary: £41,440 + 30% unsociable moving to £47,967 + 30% unsociable, subject to achieving full competency (pensionable)

Grade: 2A1

Contract Type: Permanent / Full Time Rail for London Infrastructure (The Elizabeth Line)

Location: Based at Paddington / Plumstead Depot and along the whole Elizabeth Line Central Operating Section (COS) is required

Overview of Project / Role

 

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Maintenance Delivery Technician (SMDT) – MEP Electrical to join the Elizabeth line ensuring the successful delivery and operation of London's newest railway.

Primarily the Senior Maintenance Delivery Technician shall assume a role faulting & maintenance role, provide team leadership and manage safety.

You will be expected to work to a shift pattern which shall include unsociable hours and weekend working.

The Senior Maintenance Delivery Technician is responsible for the delivery of safety of line inspections, asset monitoring, maintenance, like for like renewal and improvements works. This will include asset fault response, infrastructure inspection, asset data management and the safe delivery of reliability centred maintenance tasks.

You will be provided a high standard of training tailored to gaining the competencies to related to your role.

 

 

Key Accountabilities 

 

  • Leading the delivery of maintenance tasks as defined by the RFLi Engineering team, complying with defined RFLi standards, processes, procedures, and performance to be delivered. Part of the fault rectification team and handing back the railway to safe operation following maintenance and works completion.
  • Deliver maintenance deployment planning with operations colleagues, ensuring that the operational requirements align with the maintenance engineering asset management requirements and deliver a compliant, safe, operable, and maintainable railway.
  • To ensure that Rail for London Infrastructure (RFLi) fully address the specification, planning, execution and quality of the maintenance engineering and safety management requirements. This is part of the asset management strategy and plan to deliver the required asset whole life, Reliability Availability Maintainability (RAM) and Remote Condition monitoring.

 

 

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience

 

  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electro Technical Services (Electrical Maintenance) (2357-23) or equivalent
  • Or JIB Graded Approved Electrician in installation and/or Maintenance
  • LVAP qualification and experience
  • Undertake Installation, Maintenance, Modification and repair of User Control and Network Devices Subsystem (DALI)
  • Level 3 Award in Electrical Wiring Regulations BS7671:2018
  • Level 3 Certificate for the Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (2377-12)
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to drive company vehicles
  • Substantial knowledge of railway safety-related standards regime and processes
