Within Place’s for London, The Asset Management Team has an opportunity for a Secondment Role as Senior Commercial Manager (Maternity Leave Cover) leading the Asset Management Commercial Team. The role is responsible for a diverse number of portfolios across Asset Management including; Arches, Retail, Landlord/Tenant works including a Large Residential Retrofit programme, Car Parks, Industrial and Offices. The role is responsible for supporting the delivery team for all Commercial activities pre and post contract. 

 

Knowledge 

  • Degree level qualification in Quantity Surveying or relevant experience
  • Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or Member of CIPS (essential)
  • Excellent understanding of Public Procurement Regulations (essential
  • Good understanding of UK construction industry practices and techniques including; tender preparation, procurement, NEC construction contracts and contract administration (essential
  • Good understanding of London Underground infrastructure and the interfaces when building next to stations, tracks or operational buildings
  • Excellent understanding and appreciation of London construction market economics and trends
  • Knowledge of and ability to advise on any potential financial risks to projects

Experience 

  • Previous experience of large firm Commercial Management consultancy or Large Public sector organisation (essential)
  • Working within Public Sector Procurement and advising on programme wide strategies
  • Experience of bringing consistent and equal cost management advice to a diverse portfolio of projects simultaneously
  • Experienced in drafting and managing NEC contracts, including ECC Option A, C & E Across complex construction sites (essential)
  • Have managed a team and Developing, managing and mentoring Graduates and Junior Staff
  • Experienced in developing and implementing large pipeline programme of works (essential)
  • Good Knowledge and experience of Pre-Contract Activites, Cost Planning, Public Procurement Regs, Cost Management and post Contract experience (essential)

As a fixed term contractor we can offer you a choice of pension arrangements.
